DE SOTO (3-1, 2-0) at SEAMAN (1-2, 1-2)
Friday's game is a rematch of last season's Class 5A state championship game, which Seaman won, 66-47. De Soto is currently ranked No. 4 in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association state rankings. Seaman is coming off a 61-48 United Kansas Conference loss to Piper Tuesday night. Freshman KaeVon Bonner led Seaman with 18 points against Piper. The Vikings have played their first three games without senior standout Aron Davis, who has been on the mend from a summer knee injury.
KC-BISHOP WARD (4-0) at HAYDEN (2-1)
Hayden, ranked No. 3 in Class 4A by the KBCA, went 2-1 in last week's Paul Terry Classic at Emporia, including a 59-45 win over Spring Hill on Saturday. KC-Ward went unbeaten in the Irish Classic, improving to 4-0 on the season with a 61-56 win over Salina Sacred Heart. The Cyclones are ranked No. 10 in 3A.
KC-TURNER (0-3, 0-2) at TOPEKA WEST (4-1, 3-1)
Topeka West, ranked No. 8 in Class 5A by the KWCA, will be looking for its third win of the week Friday night. The Chargers, who have won four straight games, rallied in the second half to take a 65-49 United Kansas Conference win at Lansing on Tuesday and posted a 58-54 non-league win at Junction City Thursday night. Senior Xavier Alexander scored a game-high 25 points for the Chargers in the win over Lansing while senior Malachi Berg led West with 20 points againt Junction City and senior Sincere Austin and junior Caleb Noonoo added 12 points apiece.
KC-WYANDOTTE (1-4, 1-1) at HIGHLAND PARK (2-0, 0-0)
Highland Park, ranked second in Class 5A by the KBCA, rolled to an 85-57 non-league home win over KC-Southeast, Mo. on Tuesday night. Senior Bo Aldridge led the Scots with a game-high 28 points, including 18 in the first quarter, while senior Tre Richardson added 16 points, 14 in the second half, and recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds. KC-Wyandotte is coming off a 51-47 Meadowlark Conference win over KC-Schlagle. Highland Park will be making its Meadowlark Conference debut Friday night.
ST. MARYS (2-2, 1-0) at SILVER LAKE (1-2, 1-0)
Silver Lake notched its first win last Friday, posting a 53-41 Mid-East League decision over Riley County. Junior Spencer Johnson led the Eagles against Riley County with 13 points, going 11 of 13 at the free throw line, while senior Ian Stithem added 10 points and senior Dylan VandeVelde eight. St. Marys is coming off a 44-41 Mid-East League victory over Rock Creek.
KANSAS CITY CHRISTIAN (1-3) at ROSSVILLE (0-4)
Rossville came within a basket of picking up its first win of the season in its final game of the Irish Classic last Saturday, dropping a 46-45 decision to tournament host Chapman. Sophomore Tayson Horak led the Bulldawgs with 14 points against Chapman while freshman Jakoby McDonnell added 11 points. Kansas City Christian is coming off a 47-43 loss to West Franklin.
SHAWNEE HEIGHTS (2-2, 2-2) at LEAVENWORTH (2-2, 0-1)
Shawnee Heights is coming off a 55-39 home United Kansas Conference victory over No. 7-ranked Basehor-Linwood on Tuesday. Junior Brennon Dodge had 18 points, including two 3-pointers, for Shawnee Heights while sophomore Jaret Sanchez had 17 points and three 3-pointers. Senior Jeremyah Kendrick was the third-T-Bird in double figures, scoring 12 points. Leavenworth is coming off a 59-52 win over Rush, Mo.
