A junior returning Class 6A state champion, Broxterman emerged from a field of 58 wrestlers as the 132-pound champion in the Kansas City Stampede Saturday at Bartle Hall in Kansas City, Mo. Broxterman, who is 18-1 on the season, captured the championship with a 5-0 decision over Miller Sipes of Staley, Mo.

KENDRA HURLA, Rossville

Hurla, a senior three-time state-champion wrestler, recorded the 100th win of her high school career en route to the 120-pound championship in the 37-school LadyCat Classic at Basehor-Linwood Saturday. Hurla, who is 11-0 on the season, pinned Olathe South's Nicole Redmond at the 3:17 mark of the championship match and went 5-0 on the day with a bye, three pins and a 10-3 decision.

KEERA LACOCK, Rossville

A senior 115-pound standout wrestler, Lacock reached the 100-win career milestone in Saturday's 37-school LadyCat Classic at Basehor-Linwood on the way to the 115-pound title. Lacock pinned Tonganoxie's Stella Bailey at the 1:43 mark of the championship match. Now 11-0 on the year, Lacock received a first-round bye before pinning four straight opponents.

A 5-foot-6 sophomore, McGlory helped lead Topeka West girls basketball to three wins in four nights, with the Chargers evening their record at 3-3. McGlory scored 15 points with three 3-pointers in West's 54-34 United Kansas Conference win over Lansing last Tuesday and had 16 points with two 3s in Thursday's 54-35 win over Junction City and helped West close out the week with a 57-22 UKC win at Kansas City-Turner on Friday.

JA'COREY ROBINSON, Highland Park

A 6-foot-6 junior, Robinson scored 26 points on Friday as the 3-0 Highland Park's boys basketball team opened defense of its Meadowlark Conference championship with a 76-30 road win at Kansas City-Wyandotte. Robinson scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds on Tuesday as the Scots, No. 3-ranked in Class 5A by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association, rolled to a 92-25 win over Kansas City-Southeast, Mo.

 SAM UNGASHICK, Washburn University

Ungashick, a 6-foot-1 sophomore guard, scored a career-high 26 points Saturday, leading Washburn University's men's basketball team to an 83-77 MIAA road win at Missouri Western. Ungashick hit nine of 16 shots from the field and six of nine 3-pointers as the Ichabods improved to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference. Ungashick scored 24 points in Wednesday's loss at Northwest Missouri.
