Bachelor hit a 3-pointer to give Washburn a 7-0 lead at the 16:56 mark of the first half and added two more treys and a two-point basket to put the Ichabods up 15-8 at the 15:04 mark and WU went on to go wire-to-wire for the win, improving to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the MIAA.

Bachelor scored a career-high 24 points and said the hot start was a big boost.

"It definitely helps,'' Bachelor said. "It gets your confidence up and just helps with the flow of the game because now they kind of have to respect the shots and then the drive's open and it opens up things for my teammates.

"It just gets the team's confidence going, so that was really good.''

Bachelor got his second start Tuesday after coming off the bench his first nine games, but said it doesn't matter to him whether he starts or not.

"It really doesn't affect me at all,'' Bachelor said. "I just try and do what's best for the team and just try to come in and give the energy that the team needs and just give what I can.''

The RiverHawks (4-6, 0-5) cut the Washburn lead to five at 17-12, but WU answered with a 24-5 run over the next 9:06 of the half to push its lead to 41-17 with 4:36 to play in the opening half.

Bachelor wrapped up the scoring in the opening half on his 16th and 17th points of the game, sending Washburn to the break with a 43-23 lead.

Washburn scored nine of the first 11 points of the second half and led by no fewer than 20 points the rest of the way, eventually stretching its lead to as many as 38 in the 36-point win.

Bachelor went eight of 15 from the field and four of seven from 3-poit range.

Junior Andrew Orr finished with 14 points on seven of nine shooting and sophomore Emmanuel Byrd scored a career-high 10 points, adding four boards and two assists.

Brady Christiansen and Michael Keegan both grabbed 10 rebounds while Jake Schadegg came off the bench to score nine points and  added five assists.

Washburn coach Brett Ballard said Tuesday's win was a good way to end a productive first semester of the season.

"I thought that was a good way to finish the semester,'' Ballard said. "I told our team this was about the most complete semester we've had and I've had in coaching.

"I don't just mean on the court. We've done really well in the classroom, community service, supporting other teams here on campus. These guys have had a great semester and I'm really pleased we could finish it the right way.''

The Ichabods will be back in action with a Jan. 4 contest against Central Oklahoma at Lee Arena.
