Seaman girls bowler Paige Snyder has been solid through the early going of her freshman season but stepped things up a few notches in Wednesday's Topeka West quadrangular at West Ridge Lanes.
Snyder rolled a 652 series to take the individual title by 76 pins as Seaman rolled to a huge 2,347-2,017 win over Junction City in the team standings.
"This was definitely one of my higher series,'' Snyder said. "I was just hitting that mark every single time.''
Snyder said she continues to gain confidence with city, league, regional and state competition on the near horizon.
"I'm getting a lot more comfortable with the people I'm bowling with and the environment, defnitely,'' Snyder said.
Snyder was one of three Vikings in the top five individually, with Claire LaDuke second with a 576 series and Kayla Mize fourth with a 545.
Topeka West's girls finished third as a team, just one pin behind Junction City at 2,016, while Highland Park was fourth (995).
West's Megan Wood finished third individually with a 561 series.
Junction City and Carmine Mansinelli stole the show in the boys division, with Mancinelli rolling a monster 792 series, including 280 and 289 games, to lead the Blue Jays to a 2,648-2,390 win over Topeka West in the team race.
Seaman was third with a score of 2,368 while Highland Park was fourth at 1,969.
West's Alec Rutschmann finished second individually with a 632 series while Seaman's Riley Parkhurst placed third with a 611.
All seven city schools will compete on Friday at Gage Bowl in the 1st annual Topeka and Shawnee County High School Bowling Championships.
Varsity teams will kick off the competition at 10 a.m. with three 10-pin games, followed by four Baker format games.
