Silver Lake's boys outlasted Rossville Monday night for a 66-63 Big East League win on the Eagles' home floor, avenging an earlier loss to the rival Bulldawgs.

The game was tight throughout, with Rossville leading 15-13 at the end of the first quarter before Silver Lake used a 19-12 second quarter to go up 32-27 at the half.
It was still a five-point game at the start of the fourth quarter (47-42) before the Eagles held off the Bulldawgs down the stretch.
Junior Dayne Johnson led the 14-4 Eagles to their fourth straight win with a game-high 31 points while Jared Johnson and Brody Deiter added 11 points each, with J. Johnson hitting three 3-pointers.
Junior Jack Donovan led 12-6 Rossville with 20 points (three 3-pointers) while Cameron Miller added 18 points with three 3s and Kameron Badura had 12 points.
Eagle girls roll to 38-point victory over rivals
Silver Lake's girls dominated the first half Monday night on the way to a 58-20 Big East League win over rival Rossville at Silver Lake.
The 16-2 Eagles outscored the 8-10 Bulldawgs 17-4 in the first quarter and then used a 20-2 second quarter to take a huge 37-6 cushion to the locker room at the half.
Silver Lake increased its advantage to 56-16 at the end of the third quarter, forcing a running clock the rest of the way.
Freshman Karys Deiter led the Eagles with a game-high 19 points while Taylor Zordel added 13 points and Ella Bolan 12.
Junior Rylee Dick led Rossville with 13 points.

Rural boys clinch share of Centennial crown with 65-39 romp
Washburn Rural's boys rode a monster first half to a 65-39 Centennial League road win at Emporia Monday night, with the clinching at least a share of the league championship with three games remaining.
The Junior Blues put the game away by halftime, hitting 11 3-pointers en route to opening up a commanding 41-18 lead at the break after leading by as many as 29 points.
Rural cooled off a little in the second half but still connected on 13 of 28 3s on the night.
Junior Simon Rowley scored 16 of his game-high 18 points in the first half, going 4 of 4 from 3-point range.
Senior Kaden Ballard hit three 3-pointers in the first half on the way to a 12-point night while freshman Brooks Ballard canned a pair of first-half treys.
With Monday's win the Junior Blues improved to 13-4 overall and 7-0 in the league, holding a full three-game lead over Junction City in the league race.
Washburn Rural will be at home Friday to host Hayden in a Centennial League tilt.

Lady Blues roll to 64-22 win at Emporia
Washburn Rural's girls went wire to wire for their sixth straight win Monday night, taking a 64-22 Centennial League road win at Emporia.
The Junior Blues scored the first four points of the game and opened up a commanding 15-2 lead at the end of the opening quarter.
Washburn Rural went on to lead 29-12 at the half and 44-21 at the start of the fourth quarter before forcing a running clock (30-point lead) with three and a half minutes remaining.
The Junior Blues, who improved to 13-4 overall and 6-1 in the league with their sixth straight win, outscored the Spartans (3-14, 1-6) 20-1 in the fourth quarter, including the final 20 points of the game.
Sophomore Maddie Vickery led Washburn Rural with 17 points while senior Kate Hinck added 10 points.
With Monday's win and Hayden's loss to Manhattan, Washburn Rural pulled within a half game of Hayden (7-1) in the league race.
The Junior Blues will host the Wildcats on Friday.

Topeka High girls rout Junction City, 76-23
Topeka High rolled to a 76-23 Centennial League victory at Junction City Monday night, improving to 11-7 overall and 4-4 in the league, clinching a winning 2024-2025 season.
The Trojans got 24 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals from sophomore Ahsieyrhuajh Rayton while junior Keimara Marshall had 14 points, 8 steals and 3 assists.
Freshman Hailey Caryl scored 12 points with 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the Trojans while junior Trish Short had 11 points.
Topeka High will travel to Emporia on Friday.
Blue Jays take 81-65 league win over Trojans
Junction City took an 81-65 home Centennial League win over Topeka High Monday night.
The Blue Jays improved to 11-6 overall and 4-3 in the league while the Trojans fell to 1-17 overall, 1-7 in the league.
Indians hand Hayden girls first league loss
Manhattan's girls edged top-ranked (Class 4A) Hayden 50-47 Monday night at Manhattan, with the Indians handing the Wildcats their first Centennial League loss after seven straight wins.
Hayden fell to 15-2 overall and 7-1 in the league.
Senior Millie Ramsey led Hayden with 16 points while senior Brylee Meier had 14 points with four 3-pointers.
The Wildcats will travel to Washburn Rural on Friday to face the Junior Blues in a battle of the league-leaders.
Wildcats avenge loss to Manhattan with 54-51 road win
Hayden's boys topped Manhattan 54-51 Monday night on the Indians' home court, with the Wildcats avenging a 45-42 loss to the Indians on Jan. 17.
Hayden improved to 10-7 overall and 4-4 in the Centennial League.
