Seaman freshman bowler Dylan Hunt started his third game Tuesday at West Ridge Lanes with an open frame, but didn't miss again, rolling 11 straight strikes for a 279 to finish off an individual championship in the Seaman quadrangular.
"I was about a millimeter from knocking it over,'' Hunt said of his narrow one-pin miss in the first frame. "I think the wind could have blown it down if I was any closer.''
But Hunt started his dominating string of strikes the next frame, ending his day with his season-high score.
"The right side of the lane just started hooking and I just used it to my advantage,'' Hunt said. "I just tried to take my time and breath in, breath out and every shot don't take about the last one, just think about the next one.''
With the biggest meets of the year coming up, Hunt said he feels pretty good about his game.
"I feel pretty confident about it,' Hunt said. "I just need to work on adjusting to the lanes a little bit better.''

In the first meeting between the Shawnee Heights girls and Basehor-Linwood, the game went down to the final second before Audrey Schulte hit a game-winning 3-pointer to give the T-Birds a one-point United Kansas Conference victory.
The finish of Tuesday's rematch wasn't quite as dramatic, but it was still a nailbiter all the way, with the T-Birds pulling out a 55-51 win at Heights.
"During the first game, we lost our composure in the first half,'' Shawnee Heights coach Bob Wells said. "(The Bobcats) like to play a really physical style of game and really get out and defend and deny and I don't think our girls were believers at the time of how hard they were going to play on defense so we were down like 14 at halftime.
"This game our girls kind of bought in to, 'Hey, this is going to be a battle and we better have our composure ready.' We lost our composure a few times but we got it right back and I'm really proud of them.''
