The Scots, who improved to 2-0, got another huge scoring night from senior Tamir Anderson, who scored 31 points against Southeast, with 27 of those coming on nine 3-pointers. Anderson's big game Tuesday followed a 21-point effort with seven 3s in the Scots' season-opening win over Bonner Springs.

“What Tamir is doing to start this season is incredible, but we as coaches and his teammates expect him to shoot this way,” Highland Park coach Michael Williams said. “He continues to put the work in and deserves these results.”

Junior Mikey Williams added 18 points for the Scots, while junior Ja’Corey Robinson had 17 points and eight rebounds and senior Amari Taylor 14 points. Junior Jamon Wilson dished out eight assists.

The Scots have now scored 90 points in back-to-back games and have outscored there opponents 182-58 to open the season.

“In games like these we're playing ourself,'' Michael Williams said. "We emphasize that the entire time. I don’t stop coaching and our kids aren’t gonna stop playing. We’re working toward something.

"We’re blocking everything out about our opponent and doing what we need to do to move the needle forward for our team. We know the time is coming where the challenges will present themself and we will be ready.”

The Scots will be back in action this Friday at KC-Wyandotte.

Highland Park's girls will play their home-opener Friday against Wyandotte.
