Seaman jumped out to a quick 14-5 start in the opening quarter Tuesday night and never looked back, romping to a 66-44 home Centennial League win over rival Hayden.

Seaman was in control by a 34-18 margin at the half and took a 48-32 lead into the fourth quarter.

Senior Ty Henry dominated early on the way to an 18-point night while senior Mateo Hyman also scored 18 to tie Henry for game-high honors as the Vikings improved to 4-2 overall and in the Centennial League.

Henry went eight of 12 and Hyman six of eight from the field while senior Gavin Wilhelm went four of five and finished with 12 points. Senior Dreighton Griess was the fourth player in double figures for the Vikings, scoring 10 points.

Seaman shot 52 percent from the field and went 14 of 18 from the free throw line.

Junior Joe Otting led Hayden (1-4, 1-4) with 14 points while senior Trent Duffey added 13. 

SHAWNEE HEIGHTS BOYS 73, BONNER SPRINGS 70 -- Senior Nate Pewe had a career night for Shawnee Heights on Tuesday as the T-Birds improved to 4-1 with a hard-earned 73-70 non-league road victory at Bonner Springs.

Pewe scored a game and career-high 32 points while also grabbing six rebounds and hitting two big free throws with 5.3 seconds remaining as the T-Birds rallied past the 3-3 Braves.

Shawnee Heights trailed Bonner Springs 22-21 after one quarter, 44-43 at the half and 60-57 at the start of the fourth quarter before outscoring the Braves 16-10 the rest of the way.

Pewe hit 11 of 14 shots from the field, including three of four 3-point attempts, and went seven of seven from the free throw line.

Senior Carter Olson backed Pewe with 17 points (eight of 11 from the field) and six rebounds while sophomore Brennon Dodge added 12 points and junior Jeremyah Kendrick 10.

Senior point guard Jarin Sanders dished out five assists for the T-Birds.

HIGHLAND PARK BOYS 70, ATCHISON 41 -- Junior Ketraleus Aldridge poured in 34 points as undefeated Highland Park started 2022 the way it finished '21, rolling to a 70-41 non-league road victory at Atchison.

Aldridge scored 21 points in the first half as Highland Park opened up an 18-9 first-quarter advantage and took a commanding 31-17 lead to the locker room at halftime.

The Scots, now 6-0 on the season, turned the game into a runaway with a 24-12 third quarter.

Senior Juan'Tario Roberts added 11 points and junior Tre Richardson 10 for the Scots, ranked No. 3 in the Class 5A state rankings by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association.

Highland Park also did the job on the defensive end, as Atchison (4-3) did not have a player score more than eight points.
