Hayden's boys golf team put five players in the top eight spots individually on the way to a dominating 24-stroke team victory in Wednesday's Santa Fe Trail Invitational at Lamont Hills.

Junior Nick Gorman finished third individually with a 73 while senior Jacob Padilla placed fourth with a 76, juniors James Kuta and Colin Scott tied for fifth with 77s and junior Tagen Rodriguez tied for eighth place with an 82.

Sophomore Austin Bean rounded out the Wildcats' lineup with a 94.

Hayden finished with a four-person team score of 303, while Council Grove was second with a 327 total and tournament host Santa Fe Trail third at 330.

Silver Lake finished sixth as a team at 363, led by sophomore Grady Bergmann, who tied for 11th place with an 85.

Council Grove's Drew Buchman and Santa Fe Trail's Lane Workman tied for first place individually with 71s.

Free State dominates 11-school Seaman Invitational

Free State swep the top three individual spots in Wednesday's Seaman Invitational at Village Greens on the way to an 11-stroke win in the team standings.

Free State junior Aiden Graff-Hannah shot a 70 to take individual honors over Firebird teammates Cash Nelson and Jack Randall, who tied for second with 71s.

The Firebirds also got a tie for fifth place from Henry Thompson, who shot a 73 to round out Free State's top four.

Free State shot 285 as a team while Kansas City-Rockhurst, Mo. was second at 296.

Washburn Rural, which played a split squad in the Seaman event, finished fifth as a team with a 321 team score while Shawnee Heights placed seventh (332) and Seaman took eighth (338).

Rural's Parker Noller, Higgins Hawks and Michael Wilson all shot 80s to tie for 16th place while Brady Goeder carded an 81 to tie for 25th place.

Shawnee Heights' Jensen Crawford and Ayden Valdivia tied for 16th with 80s while Zack Hohman shot an 85 and Logan Hahn an 87 to complete the T-Birds' top four scores.

Host Seaman was led by Kaleb Mack, Zach Weir and Bradley Williamson, who shot 81s to tie for 25th place while Evan Michalski and Alexander Flanagan shot 88s.
