AMELIA RAMSEY, Highland Park

Ramsey, a 6-foot sophomore, opened the 2022-2023 season with a team-high 16 points in last Tuesday's Highland Park loss to Bonner Springs and followed that up with a career night in Tuesday night's 68-9 non-league romp past Kansas City-Southeast, Mo., finishing with a double-double of 27 points and 24 rebounds.

Ramsey, who started for the Scots as a freshman, scored more points in the first seven minutes of the game than the Knights would score in the game.

EASTON BROXTERMAN, Washburn Rural

Broxterman, a sophomore 113-pound wrestler, finished second in the 41-school Council Bluffs (Iowa) Classic boys division to pace the two-time defending Class 6A state-champion Washburn Rural boys.

A Class 6A finalist as a freshman, Broxterman, off to an 11-1 start this season, lost a tight 8-5 decision to Fort Dodge junior Dru Ayala in the 113-pound championhip match. Broxterman is currently ranked No. 2 in the All-Class and Class 6A rankings by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association.
