Hayden's boys won five events and qualified for the Class 3A state meet in nine events on the way to claiming the team title in Thursday's 3A track and field regional at St. Marys.

Senior Finn Dunshee swept the 100 and 200-meter dashes while junior Jensen Schrickel won the 400 and the Wildcats added wins in the 4x100 and 4x400 relay as Hayden won the team title by an 80-58 margin over Nemaha Central.
Dunshee clocked a time of 10.69 seconds in the 100 and went 21.64 in the 200 while Schrickel won the 400 in 50.16 and finished second in the long jump at 21 feet, 9 inches.
The Wildcats, in their first season in 3A, also swept the 4x100 (42.49) and 4x400 (3:28.90) titles.
Junior Liam Stegman finished third in the 400 (51.34) and senior Carter Charvat placed fourth in the javelin (165-5) while Hayden also qualified for state with a third-place finish in the 4x800 relay (8:28.03).
Silver Lake's boys qualified for state in seven events, led by junior Evan Scheid, who placed second in the 200 (22.67) and third in the 100 (11.21)
Silver Lake senior Blake Redmond qualified for state with a third-place finish in the long jump (20-8) while senior Eli Ferguson placed fourth in the 800 (1:59.50) and junior Jared Johnson finished fourth in the high jump (5-10).
The Eagles also finished second in the 4x100 relay (43.11) and third 4x400 relay (3:29.61).
Senior Barret Lietz will represent Rossville at state, placing fourth in the shot put (51-2).
Hayden's finished second in the girls division to Nemaha Central (115-76).
Freshman Sofia Harper posted a second-place regional finish in the 1,600 (5:29.48) and a third in the 800 (2:27.47) while junior Bella Reid placed second in the 100 hurdles (16.31), senior Natalie Hillebert finished third in the 400 (60.59), junior Elliot Wrench was third in the 1,600 (5:33.01) senior Liz Moore was third in the pole vault (9-0).
Senior Elaina Wolff finished fourth in the 3,200 (13:32.93), freshman Emberly Connell was fourth in the high jump (4-8) and senior Hannah Schmitz placed fourth in the discus (106-2) while Hayden also qualified in a pair of relays, placing second in the 4x400 relay (4:08.96) and fourth in the 4x100 (51.32).
Silver Lake, which was fourth as a team, got a win from junior Tessa Gerber in the 3,200 (12:38.70) and a win in the 4x400 relay (4:05.98) while senior Kaibryn Kruger took second in the triple jump (35-0.50), senior Ava Rottinghaus was second in the javelin (128-7), sophomore Journey Manhart was the runnerup in the high jump (5-0) and the Eagles finished second in the 4x100 relay (50.90).
Senior Kaylee Deiter placed third in the high jump (4-10) and freshman Ali Gerber was fourth in the triple jump (34-0).
Rossville junior Kielyn McDonnell qualified for state with a runnerup finish in the 100 dash (12.79) while the Bulldawgs took third in the 4x100 relay (51.19) and junior Shayla Rezac placed fourth in the 400 (60.88).
Rural boys, girls second in 6A regional
Washburn Rural placed a solid second in both the boys and girls divisions of Friday's Class 6A regional at Wichita while winning a total of seven events.

Senior Josh Sulzen-Watson led the Junior Blue boys with wins in the discus (161-10) and javelin (192-7) while junior Isaiah Terry won the 400 dash (48.98), senior Titan Osburn won the long jump (21-4) and Rural won the 4x400 relay (3:22.05).
Senior Cody Ingenthron and sophomore Liam Morrison went two-three in the 110 hurdles (14.71 and 14.85) and Morrison was third in the 300 hurdles (40.42).
Osburn finished third in the high jump (6-0) while sophomore Brooks Kehoe was third in the 3,200 (9:46.65), senior DJ Holman was third in the javelin (148-10) and senior Jamond Lane was third in the shot put (49-1) and junior Jacob Hawks was fourth in the shot (46-9.
The Junior Blues also qualifed for state with a third-place finish in the boys 4x800 relay (8:18.64).

On the girls side, Washburn Rural got a win from senior Raegan Petersen in the discus (121-7) while senior Audrey Simpson (124-4) and sophomore Morgan Ray (122-4) went one-two in the javelin and freshman Kailyn Petersen finished third in the discus (119-0).
Rural junior Rylee Ismert placed second in the 1,600 (5:13.99), junior Payton Fink was second in the 3,200 (11:33.53) and third in the 1,600 (5:14.92) and sophomore Emily Graf was third in the 3,200 (11:33.54) and fourth in the 1,600 (5:15.44).
Senior Analese Estudillo (8-6) and sophomore Emme Blanco (8-0) went three-four in the pole vault while the Junior Blues earned state berth in all three relays, placing third in the 4x400 relay (4:14.42) and 4x800 relay (10:28.72) and fourth in the 4x100 relay (49.61).

Topeka High's girls got a win and a second-place finish from freshman Ahsieyrhuajh Rayton, with Rayton winning the triple jump at 36-7 and finishing second in the long jump at 17-9.
Trojan sophomore Keimara Marshall qualified for state with a third-place finish in the 100 dash (12.47) and a fourth in the 200 (26.25) and High also advanced to state with a fourth-place finish in the 4x400 relay (4:17.49).
High's boys finished fourth in the 4x100 relay (42.97) to earn a trip to state while Tre'Vante Ewing was fourth in the long jump (20-11).
Topeka West senior Rebecca Bearman qualified for the 5A state meet in the shot put, finishing fourth at regionals with a throw of 36-5.
The state championships in all classes will be held Friday and Saturday in and around Wichita State's Cessna Stadium.
