Rossville's boys basketball team completed its run to the Oskaloosa Invitational championship with a decisive 57-37 victory over Perry-Lecompton in Saturday's title game.
Imroving to 7-4 on the season, sophomore Jack Donovan had a monster 28-point performance for the Bulldawgs, scoring 28 points with four 3-pointers and a 6 of 6 performance at the free throw line.
Rossville also got 16 points from junior Kameron Bonura.
Rossville led by just a point (14-13) at the end of the opening quarter but used a 16-6 second quarter to take control, leading 30-19 at the half.
The Bulldawgs boosted their lead to 45-30 at the start of the fourth quarter and cruised the rest of the way.
Donovan and junior Tayson Horak were named to the all-tournament team for the Bulldawgs.
Top-ranked Silver Lake girls top Ottawa for Burlington championship
Silver Lake's girls, top-ranked in Class 3A by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association, claimed the tournament championship in the Burlington Invitational with a 64-46 romp past Ottawa.
The Eagles are now 10-0 on the season.
Silver Lake senior McKinley Kruger was named the most valuable player in the tournament while senior Makenzie McDaniel and junior Kailyn Hanni joined Kruger on the all-tournament team.
Free State tops Seaman boys, 59-53
Seaman went 1-2 in the McPherson Invitational, with the Vikings dropping a 59-53 decision to Free State on Saturday.
Saturday's game was close throughout, with the Firebirds, coached by former Hayden coach Dwayne Paul, leading 15-10 at the end of the first quarter and 31-23 at the half.
Seaman cut its deficit to 41-36 at the end of the third quarter but Free State held on for the win, outscoring the Vikings 18-17 over the final eight minutes.
Senior Holden Finley led Seaman with 17 points while sophomore KaeVon Bonner added 13 points.
Rural boys end Pittsburg tourney with second straight win
Washburn Rural improved to 4-7 on the season Saturday, closing out its appearance in the Bill Hanson Invitational at Pittsburg with a 59-54 victory over Wichita West.
The Junior Blues are 4-1 over the past five games after starting the year 0-6.

Shawnee Heights boys finished second in Shawnee Mission West Invitational, falling 82-64 to Blue Valley North in Saturday's championship game.
Blue Valley North ended Shawnee Heights' seven-game win streak, with the T-Birds now 7-3 on the season.
Cair Paravel boys third in McLouth tournament
Cair Paravel Latin went 2-1 in the McLouth Invitational, clinching a third-place tournament finish with a 61-43 win over Maranatha Academy on Saturday.
Senior Simon Everhart and junior Jase Pavlik were named to the all-tournament team.
Lion girls fall to Pleasant Ridge in tourney finale
Pleasant Ridge took a 61-12 win over the Cair Paravel Latin girls in Saturday's final round of the McLouth tournament, with Lions going 1-2 in the event.
CPLS's Becca Gately was named to the all-tourament team.
