Seaman's football team, looking to take a step forward after last fall's 4-4 record, got its season off to a rousing start Friday night at Seaman, with the Vikings rolling to a 76-6 United Kansas Conference victory.
Jared Swafford put the game away early on, scoring 33 points in the first quarter, including a pick-six by senior Tristen Berg on Topeka West's opening possession.
Seaman went on to open up a commanding 61-6 lead at halftime on the way to the 70-point romp.
Viking standout junior quarterback Max Huston had a hand in six Seaman touchdowns on the night, throwing for five TDs and running for another score.
Senior Jack Bloom carried the ball nine times for 68 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns while senior Holden Finley had two touchdown receptions for Seaman.
Unoffically, Huston went 13 of 19 passing on the night for 198 yards and the five TDs.
Seaman added a second pick-six in the fourth quarter, with sophomore Matthew Lightfoot rambling 81 yards for a touchdown.
Unofficially, junior Kenton Tisdale was three of eight passing for 98 yards for Trey Parker's Topeka West team, including an 85-yard touchdown pass to senior Josh NItschke in the second quarter.
Seaman will be at home next Friday for a UKC matchup with Kansas City-Turner while Topeka West will be at Hummer Sports Park for a conference game against Leavenworth.
