Sophomore Cody Spangler's perfect 300 game was the highlight of a dominating performance by Washburn Rural's boys and girls bowling teams in Monday's Topeka High triangular at Gage Bowl.

Spanger recorded his 300 game in his second game Monday on the way to a 679 three-game series and a second-place individual finish behind teammate Loran Glinka, who took individual honors with a 729 series as the Junior Blues won the team title by a 2,752-2,470 margin over Shawnee Heights.

Glinka, a returning Class 6A state medalist (seventh place), rolled games of 259, 247 and 223 while Spangler sandwiched games of 186 and 185 around his perfect game.

Rural, the defending 6A team champ, also got a third-place finish from Tyler Faurot (657) and a fifth-place showing from Brennan Inloes (641) while Jackson Keller added a 588 series, including a final-game 225.

Washburn Rural also dominated the girls division on Monday, winning the team title by a 2,198-1,914 margin over Shawnee Heights while sweeping all of the top five individual places.

Senior Claire Ireland, 11th in 6A as a junior, was the individual champion with a 563 series, just one pin ahead of teammate Megan Glinka (562).

Taylin Sakers was third with a 542, while Gabby Martinez finished fourth (514) and Elizabeth Poling fifth (509).

Shawnee Heights' Trey Donath bowled a 651 series to finish fourth in the boys standings while Lauren Valdivia led the T-Bird girls with a 498 series.

Thomas Patterson paced Topeka High's boys with 638 series while Aleshia White led the High girls with a 415.
