Six state medalists, including three first-team repeat picks, headline the 2024 All-Shawnee County girls golf team.
Hayden juniors Lauren Borjon and Izzy Glotzbach are both first-team repeaters after helping lead the Wildcats to their second straight Class 4A state team championship while Silver Lake Taylor Zordel is a three-time all-county selection after earning her fourth straight state medal and leading the Eagles to first and second-place team finishes as a junior and senior.
Hayden, which won the 2024 4A crown by 15 strokes, also put senior state medalist Addyson Baer on the seven-member first team while city champion Washburn Rural, which finished third in Class 6A, is represented by seniors Reece Randall and Natalie Peterson and junior Lauren Cox. Randall and Peterson moved up to the All-Shawnee County first team this fall after being second-team picks in 2023.
Borjon placed third, Glotzbach 12th and Baer tied for 16th in 4A while Zordel finished fourth in 3A-1A as both a junior and a senior.
Randall tied for 10th and Peterson tied for 12th in 6A while Cox narrowly missed a state medal, tying for 22nd place.
Named to this year's second team were Washburn Rural senior Colbey Stead and sophomore Kailyn Petersen, Seaman senior Jaycee Zimmerman and Makenna Stuke, Topeka West senior Alex Baxter, Silver Lake junior Kailyn Hanni and Hayden >>Brooke Johnson.

ADDYSON BAER, Hayden -- A senior, Baer capped her high school career with a tie for 16th place in the 4A state tournament with a 36-hole total of 174 (86-88) as the Wildcats captured their second straight 4A team title by 15 strokes. Baer finished third in the city tournament with an 80 and placed fifth in the Centennial League with a 77 and in regional competition with a 79. Baer compiled an 84.7 per-round average on the season.
LAUREN BORJON, Hayden -- Borjon, a junior, helped Hayden win its second straight 4A state title by a 15-stroke margin, finishing third individually with a 157 36-hole score (76-81) while earning her third state medal. A first-team all-county repeat selection, Borjon was the runnerup in the Centennial League tourney with a 75 and tied for sixth in the ciy meet with an 84 and was seventh at regionals with an 81. Borjon had a per-round average of 80.2.
LAUREN COX, Washburn Rural -- Cox, a junior, helped Washburn Rural earn the third-place team trophy in the 6A state tournament with a tie for 22nd place with a 36-hole score of 165 (82-83). Cox placed eighth in the city meet (87), tied for 11th in the Centennial League tourney (83) and was eighth in regional competition (85). Cox posted a per-round average 84.5 this fall.
IZZY GLOTZBACH, Hayden -- Glotzbach helped Hayden win state team championships in both golf and tennis as a junior. Glotzbach, a first-team All-Shawnee County repeat pick, finished 12th in 4A golf at 171 (89-82) to help Hayden repeat as team champion and finished fourth in the city tournament (81) and tied for eighth in the Centennial League (80) and at regionals (82). Glotzbach had an 82.3 per-round average.
NATALIE PETERSON, Washburn Rural -- A senior, Peterson earned the individual city championship with a 77 to lead the Junior Blues to the team title. She tied for sixth in the Centennial League tournament with a 78, placed third at regionals with a 77 and earned a state medal with a tie for 12th place (81-76) to help Rural post a third-place team finish. Peterson was an all-county second-team pick as a junior. Peterson compiled a per-round average of 81.2.
REECE RANDALL, Washburn Rural -- Randall, a senior, led Washburn Rural with a tie for 10th in the 6A state meet with a 36-hole total of 154 (79-75) as the Junior Blues finished third as a team. Randall finished second in the city meet with a 78, tied for third in the Centennial League with a 76 and was fourth at regionals with a 78. Randall was an all-county second-team pick as a junior. She compiled an average of 79.1 on the '24 season.
TAYLOR ZORDEL, Silver Lake -- Zordel, a junior, earned her fourth straight Class 3A-1A state medal while helping Silver Lake tie for first place and finish second on a tiebreaker in the state meet. Zordel placed fourth in the state tournament with a 36-hole score of 164 (86-78) after winning an individual regional title with an 81 for the regional team-champion Eagles. Zordel is an All-Shawnee County first-team pick for the third straight season. Zordel compiled a 79.7 per-round average this fall.
