WICHITA SOUTHEAST GIRLS 45, SHAWNEE HEIGHTS 38 -- Coming off a lengthy break, Shawnee Heights showed some rust in the early going of Thursday night's opener in the Glacier's Edge Invitational at Emporia, which cost the T-Birds in a 45-38 loss to Class 6A school Wichita Southeast.

Shawnee Heights, ranked No. 9 in 5A, came to life in the second half, but it wasn't enough to pull out a win.

Junior Haydin Hill paced the T-Birds with 11 points while senior Abby Schulte added seven points and senior Zoe Oczko six.
Shawnee Heights will play a consolation game on Friday.
