Cair Paravel Latin's girls basketball team rolled to a 47-14 win over Veritas Christian Tuesday night as freshman Josie Barkley led the Lions with a game-high 14 points, equaling Veritas' point total as a team.

The 6-6 Lions were in command after a 12-2 opening quarter and went on to lead 30-13 at the half.

Cair Paravel limited Veritas to 1 point in the second half to finish off the rout.

VERITAS CHRISTIAN BOYS 56, CAIR PARAVEL LATIN 53

Seniors Will Rau and Will Bartkoski combined for 40 points as Veritas Christian outscored Cair Paravel 17-9 in the fourth quarter to pull out the 56-53 win.

Rau led all scorers with 26 points while Bartkoski added 14 points as Veritas improved to 11-6.

Cair Paravel, which fell to 9-6, was led by sophomore Luke Fay with 18 points and 3 3-pointers while junior Zach Clark added 16 points.

BASEHOR-LINWOOD GIRLS 44, SHAWNEE HEIGHTS 38

Shawnee Heights was in the hunt from start to finish, but Basehor-Linwood was able to hold off the T-Birds for a 44-38 United Kansas Conference victory.

Heights, which fell to 4-9 overall and 2-5 in the UKC, led 13-12 at the end of the first quarter but Basehor-Linwood took a 24-22 lead at the half and led 32-27 at the end of the third quarter.

Seniors Adysen Burghart led Shawnee Heights with 13 points while senior Taylor Hawkins added 10 points. Burghart and Hawkins combined for 5 3-pointers, including 3 by Burghart.

OSAGE CITY GIRLS 52, ROSSVILLE 41

Osage City fought through a tough test from Rossville to improve to 13-1 on the season with Tuesday's 52-41 victory over the Bulldawgs.

Seniors Taylin Kirkpatrick and Hayden Serns led Osage City with 12 points apiece while senior Danielle Kerns added 10.

Freshman Kinsey Perine led Rossville (4-9) with 10 points while freshman Kinley Porter added 9.

PERRY-LECOMPTON BOYS 48, SILVER LAKE 47

Perry-Lecompton scored in the closing seconds to pull out a 48-47 win over the Eagles.

Senior Parker Stone led the Kaws (8-7) with 19 points while senior Bradley Robb added 16 points.

Senior Dawson Wyre led Silver Lake with 12 points while sophomore Kamryn Kaniper added 10.

Silver Lake fell to 5-10 with its fourth loss by 6 or fewer points.
