Cair Paravel Latin's boys basketball team put Maranatha Christian Academy away with a 48-point first half, cruising the rest of the way for an 81-43 home victory Tuesday night.

The Lions, who improved to 6-3 with their third straight win, led 19-12 in the first quarter and then hit Maranatha with a 29-14 second quarter to take a commanding 48-26 advantage at the half.

Cair Paravel, which boosted its lead to 72-40 at the start of the fourth quarter, had five players crack double figures, led by sophomore Luke Fay with a game-high 21 points, including 3 3-pointers. 

Zachary Clark added 16 points, Ethan Everhart 11 and Noah Hastert and Levi Will 10 apiece for the Lions.

Rex Robinette led Maranatha with 14 points.

CAIR PARAVEL GIRLS 44, MARANATHA 28

The Barkleys, junior Jaley and freshman Josie, combined for 25 points as Cair Paravel Latin's girls topped Maranatha Christian Academy for a 44-28 home victory Tuesday.

Jaley Barkley led all scorers with 15 points whie Josie Barkley added 10.

Cair Paravel jumped out in front 13-3 at the end of the first quarter and took a 24-12 lead at the half. Maranatha was within 10 at the end of the third quarter (28-18) before the Lions held a 16-10 scoring advantage in the fourth.

Maranatha did not have a player with more than 7 points.
