A 138-pound senior, Allen won his fourth straight Mid-East League individual wrestling title to lead Silver Lake to the team championship last Friday at Wabaunsee. Allen, one of seven league champions for the Eagles, has posted three straight top-three finishes in the Class 3A-1A state tournament, including a state championship in 2019 and a runner-up finish last season.

Birkenbaugh bowled a 737 three-game series to earn his second individual title of the week, putting together games of 225, 265 and 247 as Seaman won the boys title in the Emporia quadrangular at Flint Hills Lanes by a 2,894-2,578 margin over Derby. Birkenbaugh also won the individual title in the Hayden quad at West Ridge Lanes with a 628 series as the Vikings won by a 2,445-2,185 margin over Topeka West.

NIJAREE CANADY, Topeka High

Canady, a 6-foot junior, scored 82 points in three Topeka High girls basketball victories on the week as the Trojans improved to 11-0 on the season and pushed their winning streak to 34 games. Canady had 28 points (16 in the first half) in a 71-28 win over Shawnee Heights, scored 29 points in a 79-50 win over Kapaun Mt. Carmel and scored 25 points (17 in the first half) in a 75-39 win over Leavenworth.

TYLER GEIMAN, Washburn University

A 6-1 senior point guard, Geiman scored 52 points in two games for the 11-3 Ichabod men's basketball team, which split MIAA road contests. Geiman scored 20 points and went 8 of 12 from the field in a 95-69 win at Newman and followed that up with a career-high 32-point performance in Washburn's 74-72 loss at Central Oklahoma. Geiman also contributed 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals against the Bronchos.

JACK HUTCHINSON, Washburn Rural

Hutchinson, a 6-0 senior guard, scored a total of 34 points as Washburn Rural posted back-to-back Centennial League boys basketball wins on Friday and Saturday to improve to 8-3. Hutchinson scored 23 points and hit 5 of 7 3-pointers in the Junior Blues' 63-55 win over Emporia and followed that up with an 11-point effort in a 57-43 win over Manhattan, canning 3 3-pointers in that game.

MAKENZIE MILLARD, Seaman

Millard, a junior, bowled a 708 series to win the girls individual championship in the Emporia quadrangular at Flint Hills Lanes, pacing the Vikings to the team title by a 2,524-1,827 margin over Emporia. Millard rolled games of 246, 258 and 204 en route to the win. She also won the individual title in the Hayden quadrangulat at West Ridge Lanes with a 596 series as Seaman won the team championship by a 1,974-1,737 pin count over Hayden.
