CLAIRE IRELAND, Washburn Rural -- Ireland, a junior, earned second-team All-City recognition last season after helping Washburn Rural post a third-place team finish in the Class 6A state tournament. Ireland, also a state qualifier this fall in tennis, placed eighth in last season's Centennial League meet and was fifth for the Junior Blues in regional competition.
GABBY MARTINEZ, Washburn Rural -- A junior, Martinez has a breakout performance in the 2022 Class 6A start tournament, placing sixth individually with a 583 series to help lead Washburn Rural to a second straight third-place team finish Martinez was 29th in the Centennial League tournament and 24th at regionals before her big state performance.
KATIE PRICE, Seaman -- Price capped her junior season by helping Seaman win the Class 5A-1A state team championship. A first-team All-City selection the past two seasons, Price finished fifth in the Centennial League tournament and third in 5A-1A regional competition last season with a 630 series. Price won the Centennial League individual championship as a sophomore with a 658 series.
BRENNA RUTSCHMANN, Topeka West -- A junior, Rutschmann earned second-team All-City recognition last season after helping Topeka West qualify as a team for the Class 5A-1A state tournament, where the Chargers finished 10th. Rutschmann shot a 539 series at state. Rutschmann posted a 17th-place finish in the Centennial League and fourth in 5A-1A regional competition with a 627 series.
CHEYENNE TURKIN, Seaman -- A junior, Turkin has been a two-time Class 5A-1A individul state placer and helped the Vikings win the state team championsnip last season. A second-team All-City selection last season, Turkin placed 14th at state with a 590 series after posting a 16th-place state finish as a freshman.
MEGAN WOOD, Topeka West -- Wood, a junior, earned first-team All-City and second-team All-Class 5A-1A honors a year ago, posting a 13th-place individual finish in the 5A-1A state meet with a 593 series. Wood placed third in the Centennial League meet (590) and finished sixth at regionals (601).
