The Washburn Ichabod men will start the final leg of their four-game road trip at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night as they will head to the Sooner State to face Rogers State on in Claremore, Okla. before finishing off the week with Northeastern State on Saturday in Tahlequah.
The Ichabods will return home Feb. 7 to face Missouri Western.
Washburn, 13-6 overall, 9-4 in the MIAA, is coming off a 21-point win last time out with an 89-68 win over Nebraska-Kearney last Saturday.
Rogers State (11-8, 8-5) is coming off a 75-53 loss at Missouri Southern on last Saturday.
The Ichabods won the first meeting this season with the Hillcats, 93-71 on Dec. 9 in Lee Arena.
Washburn is first in the MIAA in scoring, averaging 79.3 points while Rogers State is 12th in scoring defense, allowing 77.1 ppg.
Junior Andrew Orr is averaging a team-high 13.7 points for the Ichabods this season while shooting 56 percent from the field (104 of 181 attempts).
Sophomore Sam Ungashick is averaging 13.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He leads the team with 28 steals.
Freshman Jack Bachelor is scoring 12.4 points per game this season and leads the team with 67 assists. Bachelor had career-highs of seven assists and six steals against Nebraska-Kearney last time out.
Sophomore Brady Christiansen is averaging 8.4 points with a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game and had a season-high 14 rebounds with seven offensive boards against the Lopers on Saturday.
Isaac Johnson leads the team in scoring with a 14.7 average followed by Rodney Battle at 14.4 and Kofi Hamilton at 11.2.
Washburn will wrap up its longest trip of the season at Northeastern State Saturday before returning home on Feb. 7 to host Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri on Feb. 10.
WU women set to face Rogers State Thursday
Washburn's women will begin the month of February on the road in Claremore, Okla. against Rogers State at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday evening.
Washburn is coming off a 75-74 overtime road loss against Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday.
WU is now 11-8 overall on the year and has gone 6-7 in the MIAA. while Rogers State is 8-11 overall to start the season and is 3-10 in the MIAA after falling to Missouri Southern 76-54 on the road on Saturday.
Senior Aubree Dewey leads the Ichabod offensive attack with a 16.5 point average on 45.3 percent shooting from the floor.
Dewey dishes out a team-high 4.8 assists per game and pulls down 5.2 rebounds per game from the point guard position, second most on the team. She averages1.9 steals.
Sophomore Yibari Nwidadah averages 12.6 points and 10.0 rebounds for the Ichabods.
Sophomore Aniah Wayne averages scoring 9.9 points and leads the Ichabods with 40 triples.
Alayzha Knapp leads the Hillcats with a 16.2 scoring average and also pulls down 6.1 rebounds per game.
Trinity Jackson leads Rogers State in rebounding at 6.9 per game.
The Ichabods finish their four-game road trip on Saturday versus Northeastern State at 1:30 p.m.
