After spotting Wayne State a 1-0 lead, Washburn University's soccer team dominated the remainder of Sunday's non-conference match, scoring four unanswered goals to take a decisive 4-1 victory at Yager Stadium.
The Ichabods improved to 3-1 on the season after winning their second straight home match.

After scoring four goals in the first half on Friday and never trailing, Washburn fell behind in the sixth minute of Sunday's match, with Washburn Rural product Reagan Allen scoring for Wayne State on a breakaway.

"I thought we were better than them to begin with,'' Ichabod coach Davy Phillips said. "For me it's about competing the whole time. I think we have a tendency when we feel the game is in hand to relax a little bit. In college it's different than high school. Every team can punish you if you let them, so for us it's about being at our best for longer periods of time.''
The Ichabods didn't allow another shot attempt the rest of the half for Wayne State but trailed through the first 25 minutes before junior Ana Muruzabal got a pass in the box from junior Viviana Soto-Herrera and deposited it into the left side of the net to tie the score at 1-1.
Early in the second half sophomore Aubrey Tanksley headed the game-winning goal into the net in the 51st minute off an assist from Washburn Rural product Mackinly Rohn, who connected with Tanksley off a corner kick for her fourth assist of the season.
In the 73rd minute Rohn, a freshman, got another corner kick opportunity and put another ball in the box that deflected off a Wildcat into the net for her first career goal to put the Ichabods up 3-1.
"I love corner kicks,'' said Rohn, who also handled that role a lot of the time for Washburn Rural. "Those are one of my favorite things to do.''
Washburn continued to push late into the game and freshman Lindsey Maul was able to take advantage, scoring her first career goal off an assist from Muruzabal in the 83rd minute to complete the scoring.
The Ichabods ended the match taking 17 shots, with 13 going on goal. Eleven different players had on-target attempts while Rohn and Soto-Herrera led with two each.
The Wildcats attempted three total shots with two going on-goal.
WU goalkeeper Raegan Wells made one save, playing all 90 minutes in goal.
Phillips said that overall he's been pleased with the Ichabods start to the season.
"I think the game we lost we learned a lot of lessons from, so that's important as long as we continue to progress and get better with games and I think we're doing that, so we're in a good place,'' definitely,'' Phillips said.
Sophomore Lakin Rold and junior Taylor Bockover played a full 90 minutes on defense while 21 players made appearances for Washburn.
Hayden Wallace had nine saves in goal for Wayne State, playing all 90 minutes.
Washburn will travel to Emporia State for a 3 p.m. match on Friday.
