The Washburn University women's basketball team returns home at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after a two week stint on the road to face Missouri Western State.

Washburn is coming off a 66-62 road loss to Northeastern State on Saturday afternoon. 

WU is now 11-10 overall on the year and has gone 6-9 in the MIAA while Missouri Western is 17-4 overall and 12-3 in the MIAA after defeating Nebraska-Kearney 73-61 on Saturday.

The Griffons have won seven straight games and are receiving votes in the latest WBCA rankings. 

As a team Washburn averages 70.6 points on 41.2 percent shooting from the floor and 32.6 percent from 3-point range.

Senior Aubree Dewey leads Washburn with a 16.4 scoring average and dishes out a team-high 4.8 assists per game and pulls down 5.5 rebounds from the point guard position, second most on the team.

Dewey plays a team-high 34.6 minutes and snags 1.8 steals per game.

Sophomore Yibari Nwidadah is second on the team with a 12.4 scoring average and averages a team-high 9.8 rebounds.

Nwidadah also leads WU in shooting at 56.1 percent from the floor.

Nwidadah was injured in a loss to Rogers State and missed the Northeastern State game with an injury but has started in all 20 of WU's other contests.

Sophomore Aniah Wayne scores 9.5 points and leads the Ichabods with 42 triples. 

Connie Clarke paces Missouri Western with a 12.3 scoring average on 52.6 percent shooting from the floor and 38.5 percent from 3-point range.

Clarke also pulls down a team high 7.3 rebounds per game while coming away with 2.5 steals. Her 2.7 assists per game also lead the Griffons.

Brionna Budgetts averages 10.2 points.

Wednesday will be the 104th meeting all-time between the Ichabods and the Griffons, with Washburn leading the series 57-46. 

The Griffons have won the last five contests in the series.  

Washburn will host Northwest Missouri State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
