Highland Park, hosting the first of back-to-back tournaments, claimed the girls team championship in Saturday's Highland Park Invitational by a 64-48 margin over city rival Topeka West.

The Scots got individual championships from Kim Rodriguez at 105 pounds, Renea Easter at 125 and Kylisha James at 170.

Runnerup Topeka West got a title from Ziona Jackson at 135 while Hayden got gold medals from Kylie Carswell (115), Kate Mead (120) and Natalie Hopper (140).
Topeka High posted a runnerup team finish in the boys division with 159 points while Hayden finished third with 139 points. De Soto won the team championship with 226.5 points.
The Trojans got individual titles from Luis Marones at 113 points and Jordan Stiner at 138 while Hayden's Jude Krentz claimed the 175-pound individual championships.
Highland Park will host the Melvin Douglas Invitational on Saturday.
Rural girls take Leavenworth Challenger title
Washburn Rural, the reigning Class 6A state girls team champion, rolled up 393 points to take the title in Saturday's season-opening 14-school Leavenworth Challenger.
The Junior Blues got individual gold medals from senior Kristen Rezac (110 pounds), sophomore Lacey Middleton (125), senior Laiken Clark (130) and sophomore Madi Blanco as well as second-place finishes from freshman Kamiryn Clark (100), junior Molly Spader (105), sophomore Emmerson Blanco (140), senior Maddie O'Brien (145), senior Emily Funk (155) and sophomore Elia Smith (190).
Bonner Springs finished second with 304.5 points.
Junior Blue boys take Burlington Duals crown on tiebreaker
It took a tiebreaker to decide things but Washburn Rural's boys took home the team title in Friday's Burlington Wildcat Duals.
Washburn Rural tied Baldwin 39-39 in its final match of the tournament, taking that match and the championship on the tiebreaker.
Earlier in the day the Junior Blues beat West Elk (72-6), Eudora (60-15), Blue Valley Southwest (62-18) and Iola (64-18).
Defending Class 6A state champions Easton Broxterman, who wrestled at 132 pounds, and 138-pounder Landen Kocher-Munoz were two of six Washburn Rural competitors who posted 5-0 records in the tournament.
Also going undefeated were Ryder Harrison (106), Brodye Kocher-Munoz (144), Brody Byrne (157) and Jaden Baum (175).
Heights girls dominate Lady Cat Duals
Shawnee Heights' girls wrestling team went a perfect 5-0 in the Burlington Lady Cat Duals without being seriously challenged on the day.
The T-Birds took a 66-18 win over Eureka, a 75-6 decision over Washburn Rural's Blue split squad, a 60-24 win over Burlington, a 60-18 victory over Baldwin and a 57-21 win over Wellsville.
Shawnee Heights wrestlers Imani Akins (100), Connie Burns (105), Odessa Schmidt (110), Audrey Hinkly (115), Isabel Reyes (130), McKenna Haltom (145) and Cianna Graves (155) all went undefeated on the day.
Eagles capture Rock Creek crown
Silver Lake's girls won the team championship in the Rock Creek tournament on Saturday, winning by a 163-141 margin over the host school.
The Eagles got individual titles from freshman Riley Mohler at 115 pounds and junior Ellen Doty at 120 pounds while sophomore Makayla Connor (145) and junior Serenity Yoakum (105) posted second-place finishes.
Bulldawg boys sixth in Raider Classic
Rossville senior 215-pounder Barrett Lietz earned an individual title in the Raider Classic at Wamego as the Bulldawg finished sixth as a team in the 12-school event.
The Bulldawgs got a second-place finish from freshman Kelton Lacock (113) while sophomore Paxton Willett (175) finished third.
T-Bird boys runnerup at Junction City by a point
Shawnee Heights' boys wrestling team came within a single point of claiming the team championship in Saturday's Junction City Blue Jay Duals, with the T-Birds dropping a 38-37 decision to Hays to finish as the runnerup.
Earlier Shawnee Heights took a 54-29 win over Shawnee Mission Northwest, a narrow 36-33 win over Emporia and a 54-27 win over Hutchinson.
Heights' Andrew Bonebrake went undefeated on the day at 138 pounds and Rykan Carver had a perfect day at 295 pounds.
Seaman girls have three champs at Emporia
Seaman's girls wrestling team opened its season in the Emporia Invitational, with three Vikings earning individual titles.
Senior Jenna Best won the championship at 125 pounds while Koti Best was the 130-pound title and Abagail Soppe took the gold at 190 pounds
Both Soppe and Koti Best pinned their way to tournament championship while Jenna Best posted two straight wins after receiving a first-round bye.
Viking boys third in Wayne Jackson Duals
Seaman went 3-2 in the Wayne Jackson Duals at Arkansas City on Saturday, finishing third as a team.
The Vikings beat Winfield 45-28, Kapaun Mt. Carmal 69-12 and Wichita North 60-21 and dropped a 64-18 decision to Maize and a tough 40-39 decision to host Ark City.
Seaman's Colin Little went undefeated at 144 pounds, while Gabe Brannick was unbeaten at 157 pounds.
