Topekan Peyton Williams' basketball career has taken her from Cair Paravel Latin to Kansas State to a sport on Team USA for the Pan American Games to her professional debut in Moscow, Russia.

Now the 6-foot-4 Williams will attempt to take the next step in her banner career after being invited by the reigning WBNA-champion Seattle Storm to attend their training camp for the 2021-2022 season.

An All-Big 12 Conference pick in both volleyball and basketball for Kansas State, Williams scored 1,553 career points and grabbed 967 rebounds for the Wildcats' basketball team.

Williams, who represented the United States in the 2019 Pan American Games, finished her career third on K-State’s all-time rebounding list, third in career double-doubles (33), fifth in career blocks (119) and ninth in career scoring.

Williams played this past season for Sparta&K Vidnoje of the EuroLeague, averaging 8.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game and averaged 15.3 points and 9 rebounds in EuroCup competition.

Williams is the second player with Topeka ties to spend time with the Storm.

Alysha Clark, who began her high school career at Topeka West before moving to Tennessee, helped the Storm win two WNBA titles before signing with the Washington Mystics in the offseason.
