Senior co-players of the year KaeVon Bonner of Seaman and Dayne Johnson of Silver Lake headline the 2026 TopSports.news All-Shawnee County boys basketball team.

Bonner is a three-time All-Shawnee County Top 10 pick after leading the Vikings to a 23-5 record and a third-place finish in the Class 5A state tournament while Johnson was an all-county repeat pick after leading the Eagles to a second straight third-place state finish in 3A and ending his high school career as Silver Lake's all-time leading scorer, eclipsing the record previously held by the legendary Lon Kruger.

Rossville senior Jack Donovan is a three-time All-Shawnee County Top 10 honoree and is joined on the first time by Rossville senior point guard Jakoby McDonnell after the Bulldawgs advanced to the Class 2A state tournament for the second straight season.

Topeka West, which won the United Kansas Conference championship in a tiebreaker over Seaman and placed fourth in Class 5A is represented on the all-county top 10 by seniors Malakyah Duncan and Keimani Paul and junior Prince Lassiter.

Also earning Top 10 honors were Hayden senior Connor Hanika, Shawnee Heights junior Cam Ross and Topeka High senior Bryson McComas.

Shawnee Heights freshman Quincy Dixon was named the county newcomer of the year after averaging 12.4 points and helping the T-Birds advance to the Class 5A state tournament.

Cair Paravel's Chip Kueffer and Topeka High's Robbie Sanders were named the Shawnee County co-coaches of the year after leading their teams to 12-win improvements in 2025-2026.

Kueffer led CPLS to a 22-3 record, including 19 straight wins and the Flint Hills League championship while first-year coach Sanders led Topeka High to a 13-11 record in '25-'26 after the Trojans posted just one win in the previous season.

KaeVon Bonner, Seaman

KAEVON BONNER, Seaman -- Bonner, a 6-4 senior, was named the Shawnee County co-player of the year this past season after leading the Vikings to a 23-5 record and a third-place finish in Class 5A. Bonner was named the All-United Kansas Conference player of the year as a senior while earning all-county and All-UKC honors for the third straight season. Bonner averaged a city-high 23.3 points, 5.5 assists and 2.6 steals for the Vikings while hitting 44 3-pointers and shooting 77 percent from the free throw line. 

Jack Donovan, Rossville

JACK DONOVAN, Rossville -- A 6-0 senior, Donovan makes the All-Shawnee County Top 10 for the third straight season after being named the co-newcomer of the year and receiving honorable mention as a freshman. Donovan helped lead the Bulldawgs to a 17-8 record and a second straight Class 2A state tournament berth this past season. Donovan finished his prep career No. 2 on Rossville's career scoring list.

MALAKYAH DUNCAN, Topeka West -- Duncan, a 6-4 senior, helped lead Topeka West to a 23-5 record, the United Kansas Conference championship and a fourth-place finish in Class 5A. Duncan was a first-team All-UKC selection after averaging 14 points, 3.1 assists and shooting 58.8 percent on two-point field goals. Duncan helped West advance to the state tournament for the second straight season.

CONNOR HANIKA, Hayden -- A 6-6 senior, Hanika earned first-team All-Centennial League recognition this past season after averaging 14.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.8 steals while shooting 58.4 percent from the field on two-point attempts. Hanika was also an All-Shawnee County honoree in football for the Wildcats.

DAYNE JOHNSON, Silver Lake -- Johnson, a 6-3 senior, was named the Shawnee County co-player of the year after finishing his career as Silver Lake's career leading scorer while helping lead the Eagles to a 22-7 record and a second straight third-place finish in the Class 3A state tournament. A two-time All-Shawnee County Top 10 selection and a first-team All-Big East League pick, Johnson was also a two-time All-Shawnee County Top 22 pick in football for the Eagles.

PRINCE LASSITER, Topeka West -- Lassiter, a 6-6 junior, helped lead Topeka West to a 23-5 record, the United Kansas Conference championship on a tiebreaker over Seaman and a fourth-place finish in Class 5A as the Chargers advanced to state for the second straight season. Lassiter averaged 14 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting 65.6 percent from the field on two-point attempts. Lassister was a second-team All-United Kansas Conference pick.

BRYSON McCOMAS, Topeka High -- A 6-4 senior, McComas moves up to the All-Shawnee County Top 10 after receiving honorable mention as a junior. Also a first-team All-Centennial League pick, McComas averaged 15.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.8 steals in 2025-2026 while connecting on 31 3-pointers.

JAKOBY McDONNELL, Rossville -- McDonnell, a 5-9 senior point guard, averaged 14.8 points, 3.2 assists, 6.5 assists and 3.1 steals this past season while helping lead Rossville to a 17-8 record and a second straight Class 2A state tournament berth. A first-team All-Big East League pick, McDonnell finished his high school career as Rossville's career assist leader, eclipsing a record that had stood since 1995.

KEIMANI PAUL, Topeka West -- Paul, a 6-6 senior, helped Topeka West post a 23-5 record, win the United Kansas Conference championship and post a fourth-place finish in Class 5A. Paul was a first-team All-UKC selection after averaging a team-high 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, while shooting 63.2 percent on two-point field goals and hitting 36 3-pointers. Paul helped West advance to the state tournament for the second straight season, scoring 30 points in the Chargers' 86-78 double-overtime win over Piper in the state quarterfinals.

CAM ROSS, Shawnee Heights -- Ross, a 6-4 junior, helped lead Shawnee Heights to a third straight Class 5A state tournament berth, earning All-United Kansas Conference first-team recognition. Ross was the city's third-leading scorer at 17.6 points per game while shooting a city-best 73.1 percent from the field on two-point attempts.
