Silver Lake had no answer for Rock Creek standout Dawson Zenger in Wednesday's Burlington Invitational boys semifinal, with Zenger scoring a game-high 30 points as the Mustangs rolled to a 59-37 victory over the Eagles.
Silver Lake trailed by just a 12-10 margin at the end of the first quarter, but Rock Creek used an 18-11 second quarter to take a 30-21 halftime lead and then put the Eagles away with a 20-8 third quarter.
Zenger hit 12 field goals on the night, including 4 3-pointers, for Rock Creek, No. 8 in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Class 3A state rankings, while Charlie Killingsworth added 10 points for the Mustangs.
Silver Lake, which topped Ottawa in the first round, got 15 points from Dawson Wyre and 12 from Kamryn Kaniper.
The Eagles will play for third place at 12 p.m Saturday at Burlington Middle School.
